What do you mean by 'make a
rational argument'? You're too chicken to put up your opinions and you
still want others to submit rational arguments, like you're some kind
of Booker prize committee?
You will not be intimidated?
Like you wish you were that important. I'm sure George Bush logs on
here on a daily basis to find out what you think. Rant away, you juveniles,
that's what the US military invented the internet for. Enjoy!

Our response:
At the time this was posted, the title page made it quite clear that
we had not yet given our reasons for supporting a boycott, although
you will note that clicking the 'about' link on the left hand side of
this page will give you the information you seek. Furthermore, we were
not specifically asking for 'rational argument' but rather for people
to stop using threats. If you disagree with something, explain why.
Also, the US military 'invented' the Internet to provide a robust communications
system in the event of a nuclear war (which, undoubtedly would have
been caused by them in the first place), although it ought to be noted
that Arpanet would never have happened without the innovative work of
Donald Davies, a Brit, at the National Physical Laboratory. Still, you
Yanks are not averse to re-writing history so no wonder his contribution
is generally forgotten.

The bases are there to keep peace..Don't you understand that??
To oppose them would create another need for a Normandy??
Or do believe that we'd have been better off without US troops in Europe
in 1944?????? You are very shortsighted!!! Pity!!

Our response:
No, I do not
understand how a continuing military presence in the world's trouble
spots ensures peace. The USA has bombed 21 countries since WWII. Hardly
a good track record in the peace stakes, now is it? And I think we all
know that the US were pursuing their own agenda in WWII. They nearly
persuaded Churchill to invade Russia after all.

I fully agree with what this site stands for. It's high time we (the
Western world) put a defence up to this blatant warmongering and landconquering.
That such belligerent, oppressive
behaviour, as demonstrated by the USA government, should be tolerated
is a lack of respect to the people who have died in the tragedy of 11/9
and in the post-11/9 bombarding of Afghanistan.
Were it not for the now infamous
US foreign policy sticking its nose where it's not welcome, think of
how many thousands of lives could have been saved.
Nelson Mandela is right. They
are a threat to world peace. And we must stand up to the real instigators
of world terrorism, oppression and dictatorship - the US government.

Our response:
Thank you!

Hi, I like
your stance, look forward to seeing the site up and running. Any change
there may be a mailing list available ?
PS. Don't like
the choice of fonts/colors etc.
by 'JJ'
Our response:
We are considering the implications of the UK Data Protection Act before
setting up a mailing list, but we hope to have more news on this soon.
Regarding the colour scheme, most
feedback on this has been negative and therefore you can expect a re-design
soon.

Quote "This page aims to explain why the
site's contributors are calling for a boycott of major US companies,
services and products."
Yep you are
so keen on boycotting US companies you sue a US hosting service for
your web site.
by 'J'
Our
response:
Um, we are not
quite sure how www.uklinux.net could
be considered a US hosting service? Keep taking the pills.

You stupid pussy.
The UK is in on it too.
by 'anon'
Our response:
It depends what 'it' is? The New World Order? The Illuminati? What?
Use of the word pussy suggests an American origin to this comment, so
we would guess, by the law of averages, you are a loony of the right-wing
variety?

Why is it that you people support the most vicious
and worthless elements of society? When dregs like Saddam are allowed
to run free, there would be no more computers, no more medicine, and
no more cocoa cappuccinos.
by 'P'
Our Response:
This is the classic 'either for us or against us' argument used by American
politicians, in
their religious zeal for generations.
The world is more complicated than 'us
or them' and 'right or wrong'. Being opposed to the US's policies
does not automatically mean we are supporters of the US's enemies, either
perceived or genuine.
